At Meraki House, we see the child as:
Capable and competent
Children are not empty vessels waiting to be filled. They are active participants in their own learning, curious, resourceful, and able to construct knowledge through exploration and relationships.
Full of potential and wonder
Every child has a deep desire to understand the world around them. They express this through play, movement, art, and conversation, their “hundred languages.”
A co-constructor of learning
Learning happens through interaction, with friends, teachers, the environment, and materials. Teachers listen, observe, and guide, but children lead their own discoveries.

Each child brings their own background, ideas, and emotions into the learning community. They are valued not only for who they are but for the perspective they share.
